We Make Auto Purchases Easy
Buying a vehicle is never easy, especially when you feel like you can’t trust what dealers and other sellers are telling you. Through our many partnerships, The District Credit Union makes auto buying as easy as possible.
New and Used Auto Loans
Before you step into a dealership, contact us to get pre-approved for an auto loan. Know what you can afford, as well as the interest rate you qualify for, to start in a powerful negotiating position. Even if you visit a dealership before getting pre-approved, just tell them you’re a member of The District. Through our partnership with CU Direct Connect (CUDC), your info and loan request will come straight to us to ensure you receive a low rate. And the auto buying resources we provide our members simplify the process of finding and test-driving cars (see below).

Insurance Benefits for our Members
Mechanical Breakdown Insurance
Keep your vehicle on the road longer with a cost-efficient extended warranty from Route 66. The District Credit Union is proud to offer this exclusive program for our members. An extended warranty ensures your vehicle is always in the best mechanical condition, while protecting you against the high cost of repairs.
Note: This is not a substitute for auto insurance. If you fail to obtain or maintain your own auto insurance on a vehicle financed at The District Credit Union, we may purchase insurance to protect our interest in your collateral. This insurance is referred to as Collateral Protection Insurance (CPI) and will be considerably more than the cost of insurance you may be able to obtain on your own.
GAP Insurance
Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP) insurance could save you thousands of dollars. In the event that your vehicle is stolen, accidentally damaged beyond repair, or otherwise declared a total loss, you are still liable to pay the difference (or “gap”) between your insurance settlement and your auto loan balance, which can be significant. For just a few dollars a month, which can be conveniently rolled into your monthly loan payment, GAP insurance will cover the difference. Sign up when you apply for your vehicle loan; there’s no underwriting, no red tape, no hassle.

Payment Protection Credit Insurance
The District Credit Union offers Payment Protection Credit Insurance to help you protect more than just your credit rating. Payment Protection Insurance is designed to help you meet your loan repayments in the event that you are unable to work as a result of an accident, sickness or involuntary unemployment. Contact us about this program if you are applying for a loan.
