Celebrating 20 Years of Leadership: Tammy Boughner-Diaz

celebrate leadership

Twenty years is an incredible milestone, and we are proud to celebrate Tammy Boughner-Diaz, Chief Financial Officer, and everything she has contributed to The District Credit Union over the past two decades.

As Chief Financial Officer, Tammy helps guide the financial strength of The District Credit Union. Her journey began 20 years ago when she joined the credit union as a Teller Supervisor. Since then, she has grown alongside the credit union, taking on new challenges, expanding her expertise, and helping guide the organization through years of growth and change.

Many employees know Tammy as someone who is always willing to lend a hand, answer a question, or make even the most complex financial information easier to understand. Her knowledge, approachable leadership, and genuine commitment to helping others have made her a trusted resource across the credit union.

“The people brought me here, quite literally. And the people are why I stayed.”

-Tammy B

Throughout her career, Tammy has embraced opportunities to learn and grow. Whether helping lead a major core system conversion, preparing the credit union for regulatory exams, or supporting finance, technology, vendor management, and facilities, she has earned a reputation for stepping in wherever she is needed.

One of Tammy’s greatest accomplishments was earning her Master’s degree in Accounting while working full time. Her commitment to continuous learning helped prepare her for the leadership role she serves in today and reflects the dedication she has brought to The District throughout her career.

While Tammy has played an important role in many of The District’s accomplishments, she is most proud of the people she has helped along the way. Whether mentoring a teammate, sharing her knowledge, or helping others understand why their work matters, Tammy believes investing in people is one of the most meaningful parts of leadership.

“Tammy doesn’t just hand you a report or an Excel spreadsheet. She communicates financial data in a way that all employees can understand. She truly makes a commitment to ensure her team knows what action steps are needed to keep our credit union successful.”

– Kay

Outside of work, Tammy enjoys gardening, reading fiction, watching horror movies, and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. If you have attended one of our potlucks, there is a good chance you have enjoyed her famous Chile Relleno Bake.

Throughout the past 20 years, Tammy has earned the respect of her teammates through her knowledge, leadership, and willingness to help others succeed. Whether supporting a major initiative or taking the time to answer a question, she leads with patience, professionalism, and a genuine desire to see both people and the credit union succeed.

Congratulations, Tammy, on 20 incredible years with The District Credit Union. Thank you for your leadership, your dedication, and the positive impact you continue to make on our employees, our members, and our credit union. We are grateful for all you have contributed and are proud to celebrate this remarkable milestone with you.
